Craft & Design Fair - RHS Hyde Hall - CANCELLED

Very happy to say that the RHS Hyde Hall show lives on. We will be bringing both jewellery and vessels to one of our favourite venues for the revised Early May bank holiday.

Our event will feature a large range of carefully selected exhibitors showcasing their work in a series of marquees, set within the stunning RHS Hyde Hall gardens.

Shoppers will be able to purchase from a wonderful selection of handcrafted products designed and created by some of the UK’s most talented craftsmen and women. Products on offer include artwork and sculpture, ceramics, jewellery, leatherware, clothing and textiles, glassware, woodwork and metalwork as well as some amazing speciality foods and so much more…..

Have you “always wondered how it’s made”? Then why not take the time to watch some of our exhibitors demonstrating their skills and techniques. If you’re looking for something unique, or a special commission, then why not discuss this with the makers and designers themselves.

The event will be staged mainly in a series of stylish covered pavilions, but there will also be some superb exhibitors and displays in the beautiful outdoor garden areas as you approach the pavilions. With all this, as well as lovely refreshments and the spectacular gardens of Hyde Hall, what better way is there to spend the day?

Entrance to the show is included in the Garden Admission.

1 Day Fold-forming Workshop July 2018

10am - 5pm

£135 including copper

This 1 day course will walk students through some of the basics of fold forming, starting with the simplest of shapes and forms, progressing to more complex techniques, using both hammering and other mechanical means.

Fold forming was developed in the 1980’s by Charles Lewton-Brain. It folds sheet metal and compresses either the fold or open edge, allowing the metal to move as it wishes. The resultant forms are organic and flowing in nature.

Participants will be shown the basic principles of folding, stretching and opening copper pieces , before exploring how variations in shape and hammering can change the end result. As their confidence grows during the session, they will learn to increase the number and complexity of their folding. By the end of the day they will have explored some of the beautiful forms possible and ideally have at least one piece of jewellery to take home.
